Beaconsfield Town moved level on points with leaders AFC Rushden & Diamonds in the Evo-Stik League South East table on Tuesday after a 1-0 win at eighth-placed Hartley Wintney.
Diamonds` scheduled home game with Thame United was off due to a waterlogged Hayden Road pitch, so Beaconsfield needed to take advantage.
And, after a tight affair in Hampshire, an early 10th minute Alex Cathline effort eventually proved the difference between the two sides.
Chalfont St Peter maintained their good recent form to move into sixth place after a 1-0 win at the Runnymede Stadium against an Egham Town side who, in contrast, are in the middle of a poor run.
The only goal of the game came from Victor Osobu after 19 minutes.
Bedford Town moved up to tenth spot after another 1-0 win on the evening, this one coming at Calthorpe Park against fourth-bottom Fleet Town.
Lee Roache`s goal after 62 minutes eventually proved enough for the Eagles.
And the tight results continued as Aylesbury United made it three wins and a draw from their last four matches and move up to seventeenth in the table.
This came against Ashford Town (Middx) at Short Lane, thanks to a goal right on the half-time whistle from Horatio Hirst.
