Dave Griffiths admitted Town’s last three games were always going to be difficult, but the defeat at Wimborne was closer than the score suggested.
He said: “Played really well for two 25 minute spells, but got undone again unfortunately. First 20 minutes we should have been two or three up but we didn’t put them away and before half-time we’re 2-0 down.
“Second-half we played the best 20 minutes of the season, came back to 2-2 and looking good, but probably naivety cos us and suddenly we’re 5-2 down, but they’re a very good side.”
Barum now face three huge games against sides around them, starting with Slimbridge tonight, before North Leigh and Mangotsfield United, and despite the five point gap, Griffiths is expecting more twists and turns to come.
“There’s a little bit of breathing space with Bishop’s Cleeve getting thumped 5-1,” he said. “But they’re going to keep going and keep coming for us.
“Bishops Cleeve are not going to give up. You would think 34/35 would be enough with one side going down but you just don’t know at the moment, there are some strange results.
