Baker looks ahead to Malden & Tiptree

Injuries take their toll

Gavin James faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

After the fantastic week we have just had, our attention switches to a very tricky tie at Maldon & Tiptree in the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Maldon have a tie-up with Colchester United and have a number of their graduates, and from the reports that we have, we will be in for a tough afternoon.

We enter the game with a number of injury problems. Brad and Innsy are still unavailable, and unfortunately both Manny and Gav both pulled out during training tonight.

Gav unfortunately looks to have torn his hamstring, and could face a fair spell on the sidelines; this is really bad luck, as we were expecting him to start on Saturday and he had been looking back to his old self in training, after his game with Met Police.

Manny also has a problem with his groin, and will miss out this weekend. We hope it won’t be a long term problem, but we will have to monitor him.

Finally Warren was unable to train due to a tight hamstring, however we expect him to be fit enough to take a place on the bench on Saturday.

Depending on how Saturday goes, we may need to look at registering a number of players for next week's League Cup game at Hayes & Yeading, as we have to protect the players who are fit.

With the injuries it leaves us with only a 14-man squad
